For the seventh year in a row, ISGR is marking Día de Muertos, a Mexican tradition that honours loved ones who have passed away and celebrates the enduring connection between the living and those they remember.
Rather than focusing on loss, Día de Muertos celebrates life, love and remembrance. It is a time to share stories, remember special moments and honour the people who continue to hold a place in our lives.
At the heart of the celebration is the ofrenda, an altar created to welcome and remember loved ones. Each element has a special meaning:
Together, these elements create a meaningful space for reflection, storytelling and celebration.
Día de Muertos offers our school community an opportunity to engage with a Mexican cultural tradition and reflect on the different ways people honour and remember those they love.
For the seventh consecutive year, our ofrenda brings these symbols and stories together, reminding us that the people who shape our lives remain present through our memories, the stories we share and the traditions we carry forward.
