Admissions – Swedish National Section (LgrP & LgrM)

The National section at ISGR follows the Swedish national curriculum (LGR) and is divided into two sections. LgrP (LGR Primary years) for preschool class – grade 6 and LgrM (LGR Middle years) for grades 7-9. Please read below for information about how to apply.

Application Period

  • Annual Application Window: October 1st to December 1st for the upcoming academic year.
  • Late Applications: Occasionally accepted for Grade 4. Please contact the admissions office for availability.
  • Applications submitted outside this period will not be considered, except for the specified exception above.

How to Apply

  • Application Method: Online applications only, submitted via the link at the bottom of this page. The link is active during the application period.
  • Required Information: Personal and contact information for both the applicant and the guardian. No additional documents are required.
  • Confirmation: Applicants will receive an automatic confirmation email upon successful submission.
  • Note: Applications via phone or email will not be considered.

Important Information

  • Queue Duration: Applicants remain in the queue until September 30th of the following year. To stay in the queue for the next academic year, a new application must be submitted during the next application period.
  • Eligibility: Guardians can apply for all grades from preschool class to Grade 9. For preschool class, only children turning 6 years old in the year of school start are accepted.
  • Applications regarding twin siblings are considered in line with our admissions criteria. If a twin sibling receives an offer of placement, the other twin sibling will however be given
priority to the second round of placement offers.
  • After the application period, a queue number is created through lottery, conducted by Notarius Publicus, according to the order of priority as stated above. Available places will be offered according to queue number and order of priority.
  • Should a very uneven division between boys and girls occur, we reserve the right to depart from the order of queue number to achieve gender balance.

Admission Criteria

Applicants are prioritized in the following order:

  1. Sibling Priority: Applicants with siblings already enrolled in ISGR’s Swedish National Section, provided they meet one of the following conditions:
    • Children have the same legal guardians.
    • Half-siblings with shared residence and the same legal guardian.
  2. Residence Priority: Applicants residing in the districts of Centrum, Majorna/Linné, and Örgryte/Härlanda.
  3. Other Applicants: All other applicants.
